Findlay•Hancock County Chamber of Commerce History

With great success following the area's Findlay•Hancock County Chamber of Commerce and its partners, efforts to streamline and increase efficiency among The Chamber and its associates began in 2005 by Chamber and Community Development Foundation management teams, the Board of Directors, and local government and civic officials.

In January 2007, GreaterFindlayInc. (GFI), a public-private partnership comprised of the Findlay•Hancock County Chamber of Commerce, CDF and the Hancock County Convention & Visitors Bureau, was formed with the purpose to help develop the wealth and prosperity of the Findlay/Hancock County region through the growth of existing and new businesses. A collection of other organizations including the Small Business Development Center, Chamber Foundation, and The North Central Campus for Emerging Technologies (NCC-ET) were also a product of this effort.

A changing economic climate and need for new and different services prompted another major development for the organization in January of 2011. GreaterFindlayInc. underwent changes in structure and funding, and became the The Findlay•Hancock County Alliance – A new organization with fresh ideas and vision for the future of the Findlay/Hancock County community.

With an overall mission to help the Findlay•Hancock region to grow and prosper, the Alliance aims to strengthen the community’s tax base, act as the community’s chief marketing arm, serve as the area’s economic development leader, provide support and service to its members, and position the Findlay and Hancock County area among the best micropolitan communities in the United States.

In an effort to increase economic development in the Findlay/Hancock County region, the Alliance markets towards new business investors and tourists as well as growing families, businesses and opportunities. Though development efforts are strong, The Findlay•Hancock County Alliance continues to stand behind the needs of the community and small businesses, which make up nearly 90 percent of its membership, by providing educational opportunities, healthcare and other services essential to the growth of the already established in our community.

The Findlay•Hancock County Alliance is dedicated to honoring the past while continuing to ensure a solid future, making the Findlay/Hancock County region a great place to live, work & play.
